What age do children start having an opinion on what they wear?

It’s got to that point now where I can’t choose Darcy’s clothes for her any more. At all. She has to be involved in the making process all the way. From choosing the fabric, to choosing the pattern to choosing the detail, the length. EVERYTHING. It’s a pain because it takes longer. But in the long run at least I know she’ll wear what I make her. 3 ingenious ways to wear a dress

My daughter doesn’t always like what I make for her these days, but if I remember comfort comes first and blue comes second then I’m half way to winning her over.

She requested (erm! last year) that I make her a Balloon Fold Dress. She doesn’t request much by way of clothes, she takes it for granted that she’ll wake up in the morning and every now and then they’ll be something new hanging in her room waiting for her.

So when I received my navy Denim College+ from Nosh (and was as tempted as ever to keep it for myself), I generously offered to make her Balloon Fold Dress out of it.

Nosh fabric never disappoints on quality, it’s a treat to sew with. But there was a minor problem.

Madeit Fashion Week: Day 4

Give it up for F. F is 6 years old.  She likes drawing, making others laugh and reading. She dislikes being on her own, people asking loads of questions (hint, hint) and scary movies.

I like scary movies if it means I can sit on the couch and loose weight. Research suggests that raised adrenalin levels when we watch scary movies, increase our metabolic rate.
