It’s cold outside, put your shorts on

For most of us, the change in season means a change in our wardrobes. Put away your racerback vests, your light floaty dresses and cover those legs up.

But if, like Darcy, you are in denial about it being cold and you’re determined to keep those shorts on for as long as possible, just pop on some cosy tights, long socks or warm leggings. Add a warm jacket and voilà, an instant autumn look is born from a pair of seemingly summer shorts.

So here I am today, back with my second pair of Pixie Shorts for the Twig + Tale blog tour. This time a pair for the autumn made in Art Gallery Fabrics denim. But don’t be fooled into thinking they are thick like a pair of jeans, they are not. They look like denim, but actually they are the same weight as the first pair of Pixie Shorts I made.

I love the print on the fabric, wavy lines in a grid like fashion and if you look closely you will see the odd tiny triangle hidden like a secret.

Why Darcy’s new shorts are a winner

Somewhere to put stones.

Elastic back

Comfortable whilst bending over to pick up stones.

Child freindly

The perfect attire for throwing stones.

Pleats and piping

Nothing to do with stones.

And they fit

Win, win, win

It’s a win-win situation here today, you could win something too. Art Gallery Fabrics are kindly sponsoring 2 yards of Art Gallery fabric of your choice. And Twig + Tale are giving away 5 patterns of your choice.

Enter by clicking on the rafflecopter link below. (International entries are welcome. The winning entry will be checked to ensure all criteria are met.)

  1. you’re such a talented lady! you’re posts are always the first ones i read if they pop up in my feed! and… they never disapoint! and i always show them to mr. fliegfederfrei… look what olu made 😍 you’re shorts are great (nothing to do with stones 😂)

    • Awww! Thank you Nina. I’m so honoured that you show my makes to Mr Fliegfederfrei. Mr Ted wouldn’t be very interested in all the kid sewing blogs that I’m totally obsessed with, so I never show him. I do however show him EVERYTHING you make for Mr Fliegfederfrei 😉 And he’s now warming to the idea of letting me sew a simple sweatshirt for him.
