A sneak peak at the new Pocket Fold skirt by Madeit Patterns

Pocket Fold Skirt and reversible crop top ♥ Needle and Ted Gosh! I have been so busy lately, going to bed at midnight I now consider an early night. I have been working my butt off at Madeit Patterns with my partner Anna and our brilliant testers, to get our new collection out. It has been worth all the hard work because I am tremendously proud of our Collection and it’s coming VERY SOON.

Pocket Fold Skirt and reversible crop top ♥ Needle and Ted In the meantime I would like to share with you a sneak peak of our Pocket Fold skirt which was featured in Stylo magazinePocket Fold Skirt and reversible crop top ♥ Needle and Ted I’m not going to say too much about it, you will have to wait until we launch. But I will tell you that I made this one with some gorgeous checks fabric from Petite Couture which unfortunately Nina got the last of, check out her beautiful dress in the same fabric. Petite Couture is like fabric heaven (or fabric porn) whichever description takes your fancy. I fear I may loose you as you immerse yourself in the Fabric Wonderland that is Petit Couture. So I’ll keep this post short in the hope that you will stay with me for a little while longer.

Pocket Fold Skirt and reversible crop top ♥ Needle and Ted As I was choosing a pattern to go with the skirt, the reversible crop top by Lil Luxe sprang to mind, with it’s front bodice panel forming a point that matched the yoke of the skirt. I used Kona cotton from Plush Addict, curry with punch on one side. An unusual but beautiful combination of colours don’t you agree?

Pocket Fold Skirt and reversible crop top ♥ Needle and Ted On the other side I used black kona cotton with the reverse of the checks fabric. The really cool thing about this top is not only can it be worn inside out, but back to front too if you like. Darcy had the giggles asking me “Shall I wear it like this? or shall I wear it like this? or shall I wear it like this?….” Pocket Fold Skirt and reversible crop top ♥ Needle and Ted She even made up a fun photo sequence for her own amusement and mine, can you figure out the story?

  1. I like your use of fabric combination and colors and the most “coolest” (my kids words) thing about the top is the interchangeable feature. Love it.

  2. Did you even match the suitcase to the outfit? I really like the skirt and the material is fab. I could totally see myself in a dress in that material The pop of yellow in the pockets genius.

  3. Wonderful photo story. And hello, I want this suitcase 😉
Also, can’t wait to see your collection. Anything in there that would be suitable for a fall pattern? I’d love to translate one or more of your patterns to german…

    • Thank you Annika. You may have to fight Darcy for the suitcase. She’s had it since she was 2 and has grown out of it now but she won’t part with it, not even for her sister.
Hmmmm!! Perhaps one or two could cover fall or even more with a cardigan lol!!! Let’s discuss a little later down the line once we’ve got the collection out 🙂
