Firstly I must apologise for using the ‘C word’ in September. But I have an idea that could make you a very popular [delete as appropriate] mum/auntie/grandma/friend/dad/godmother/neighbour/other at Christmas time.
I have just sewn another knight hoodie for another nephew for another birthday present. They were both thrilled and delighted with their hoodies, so I figure that it would be a much appreciated gift for any little boy.
With 113 days* left till Christmas, you could plan ahead and purchase the pattern now in September, buy the fabric in October, sew it in November and still be ready to wrap it up and give it to a lucky little boy in December. How’s that for PPP (prior planning & preparation)? But the PPP I’m talking about today is Perfect Pattern Parcel (more about that later).
Why is the knight hoodie such a good present?
1 It has instant WOW factor
2 Chances are the recipient (or anyone else they know) won’t already have one
3 It can be for girls too
4 It helps children develop their imagination
5 It protects you from the cold (and dragons)
6 It’s an icebreaker. You’re more likely to talk to someone wearing a knight hoodie? “Love your hoodie, where did you get it?”
7 It’s not difficult to sew even if you’re a beginner (a brave one)
8 You will get 5 other patterns along with your knight hoodie pattern
9 You will be considered the cleverest person ever for having made such a cool hoodie
Perfect Pattern Parcel ends in 4 days*, so saddle up, jump on your horse and gallop on over to purchase Perfect Pattern Parcel #4
I can’t think of many other Christmas presents that would be as praiseworthy and well received as a knight hoodie, but here are 7 others that have wow factor. I suggest you only consider them if you haven’t got a sewing machine…
- Safari: A Photicular Book by Dan Kainen
- Hexbugs with track
- VW Camper Van pop up tent
- Giant Gummy Cola Bottle
- Colour changing umbrella
- Handmade London Musical box
- Chill Factor Slushy Maker
Can you think of any others?
*depending on when you read this post
About Pattern Parcel
Perfect Pattern Parcel believe in supporting independent pattern designers. It’s their opinion that indie patterns are better than big box patterns, and they are pretty sure their customers think so too. So, they allow customers to show their support in naming their own price for each Parcel. They also encourage customers to allocate part of their Parcel price to the charity Donorschoose.org in order to help classrooms in need. Pattern Parcel donates all profits after expenses from Parcel sales to the charity as well.
Bonus Pattern
Choose a price of $26 or greater for Parcel #4 and you will automatically also be sent the Bonus Pattern! The Bonus Pattern for this Parcel is the Knight Hoodie by Charming Doodle.
Helps develop imagination is a scary one!

Stephanie that really made me laugh. If my daughters got one I would have a little nibble myself then hide it and hope they forget they ever saw it 😉

OMG! You didn’t just type the C word? I love the knight hoodie I would probably need you to drop the C word in June to ensure I would make it by Christmas. I agree with some of your Christmas gifts I think hex bugs are so cool. I also think Heelies and Miffy books are good presents. Your nephews are very lucky.

Thank you Miss Elawa, I used sweatshirt fleece. It’s not expensive. Try Walthamstow Market, you may pick up a bargain if you have time to delve.
