When was the last time you did something for the first time?

cuff detail

I’m not keen on things that are too fussy or over designed. I find beauty in simple things. Simple things with a little detail or a quirky element. But I have just sewn an outfit that has it all (well not all, but a quite a lot). And guess what?

I love it.

For the first time, I used some sewing techniques that I have never used before. I have gone all out on this one because I wanted to do something a little different to make my outfit stand out from the crowd*. I can not tell you all the sewing techniques I used. I mean I really can’t tell you, because I don’t know what they are called. So I’m hoping you might be able to help.

Can you name the sewing technique?

Just for fun (and to enhance my terminology) please leave a comment with your answers. It will be interesting to test your knowledge, and even if you have no clue, just make something up that sounds good, it’s just for fun.  🙂

  1. i like your version of the mara, i was wondering, what you’re going to do! and as expected it’s gorgeous! i think nr. 10 is shirring and nr. 7 maybe pleating? would be more easy for me to name them in german!
